Opened in 1890 as a County Primary School, Lickey End First School was later designated a First School (Reception to Year 4) following the introduction of a three-tier system of First, Middle and High Schools in 1976. Children from Lickey End move on to Middle School at the beginning of the Autumn Term following their ninth birthday. The designated Middle School is Catshill Middle. All local feeder schools work in partnership as members of the Bromsgrove High School Pyramid.
